OUTSIDE TELEVISION ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM LINEUP AND HOSTS

(New York, NY) Outside Television, a new active-lifestyle network in partnership with Outside magazine, announced today their upcoming programming schedule and hosts. New hosts include Ethan Zohn, Julia Dimon, Lynsey Dyer, David LaHuta and Darian Boyle.

Outside TV's program lineup will feature new shows including "Outside Today," "Ride Guide", "Untracked", "Outside Film Festival", and "Primal Quest."

[ethan-zohn] and [julia-dimon] will co-host "Outside Today," the network's active lifestyle guide. [lynsey-dyer] and [david-lahuta] are slated to co-host "Outside Film Festival" along with [darian-boyle].

Outside TV is a joint venture between Mariah Media, publisher of Outside magazine, and the Resort Sports Network (RSN), which reaches 61 million viewers annually among 110 resort destinations.

Effective November 1, award-winning films from renowned outside-adventure competitions are screened every evening on the "Outside Film Festival". Host Darian Boyle presents the very best from the Banff Mountain Film Festival, the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, and from independent producers around the world. "PRIMAL QUEST"
Airs Saturday and Sunday from 9:30pm - 10:00pm

 

A 10-day, non-stop, expedition-style adventure race that tests the endurance and leadership of its competitors. "Primal Quest" profiles the team members who train for months and who then trek day and night to complete the course and prove their dedication to this grueling experience. Since winning "Survivor Africa," Ethan Zohn has co-founded Grassroot Soccer, an international organization that uses pro soccer players, Africa's most powerful role models, to educate youth about the dangers of HIV/AIDS. GRS now partners with Nike, the Gates Foundation, FIFA Futbol for Hope, Daimler Chrysler, DeBeers, and has "graduated" over 340,000 youths. In 2010, after surviving a rare form of cancer, CD 20+Hodgkins Lymphoma, Zohn was asked to be a global ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer and the LIVESTRONG Foundation. Most recently, he was the host of Earth Tripping, an eco-friendly travel adventure show. Zohn returned to reality-TV as a contestant on "Survivor All-Star," "Fear Factor" and "Eco-Challenge". He was featured in the documentary film "A Closer Walk" along with the Dalai Lama, Bono and Kofi Annan. Ethan has also starred in campaigns for Nike, Puma and HP, hosted MTV specials and was a sideline reporter for Major League Soccer, USL, MISL and ESPN Radio.

Julia Dimon is a self-diagnosed travel junkie. She has been a columnist for the Toronto Star, Canada's Metro News and host of World Travels on National Geographic's international channel. Julia has traveled to more than 80 countries across six continents. She maintains the popular Travel Junkie website where readers follow her adventures (and misadventures) across the globe. When not traveling, Julia makes regular appearances on travel-expo panels, including the annual New York Times Travel Show.

Lynsey Dyer has won every big-mountain competition she's entered, including the overall Extreme Skiing Tour in 2005. She's appeared in Warren Miller and Teton Gravity Research films, and was selected "Female Skier of the Year" by Powder magazine. Lynsey has hosted television programs for NBC and ESPN, and has appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America." In 2006, she co-founded the non-profit She Jumps that seeks to get girls into outdoor sports and offers avalanche safety and learn-to-ski clinics.

David LaHuta is a Bermuda-based journalist specializing in travel and lifestyle stories. A graduate of the University of Maryland College of Journalism, David has reported on topics ranging from the politics of Cyprus to bone fishing in the Bahamas. His 12-year career has taken him to more than 40 US states and more than 50 countries. A former editor of Budget Travel magazine, David is now a frequent contributor to the New York Times, Travel+Leisure and Caribbean Travel+Life. He also recently completed a stint as the travel and adventure correspondent for the "Rachael Ray Show." David's stories have appeared in Newsweek and the New York Post. David is a frequent guest on the Travel Channel, CNN's American Morning and Good Day New York.

Darian Boyle pioneered Women's freeskiing, becoming one of the top female athletes in the world with specialties in big mountain skiing (extreme skiing), skiercross, bordercross and surfing. Darian won the World Extreme Sports Award in 2000 for the best female skier, was crowned World Skiercross Champion in 1999, placed 2nd in Skiercross in 1999 during the XGames, was titled US Open Skiercross Champion in 1998 and placed 2nd overall on the World Pro Mogul Tour.
