Director of Digital Media



The primary responsibility of this position is to create & lead Outside Television’s multi-platform digital application strategy, development, execution and continuous improvement. Identify relevant new platforms & maximize reach opportunities. This position will work on maximizing revenue while maintaining brand / franchise integrity.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key internal partners in regards to platform opportunities.
  • Develop & manage partnerships with Sales & Marketing, Programming and external platform partners.
  • Create research based multi-platform digital strategy that outlines guiding principles, selection criteria, prioritization, competitive landscape, key partners, overarching revenue, reach, affinity, marketing, and distribution targets and measurement plan.
  • Seek out emerging platform opportunities by monitoring marketplace trends, competitive landscape, and testing new products and services.
  • Ensure brand consistency for each platform.
  • Work with research to measure, track, and report platform performance against plan.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and refine platform strategies and execution based on research, market analysis, traffic metrics, emerging trends and lessons learned.
  • Create web-based solutions to meet user, sales, and management expectations.
  • Interface with sales, marketing & design developing project scope and specifications.
  • Responsible for business-to-business data exchange including data feeds both incoming and out going including RSS/XML feeds.

  • Experience in XML and XSLT is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS and FTP.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel and other tools as required.
  • Technical support and trouble shooting for novice PC users.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.

Education / Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the digital media space.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their evolution.
  • Experience monetizing digital platforms.
  • Extensive industry hardware and software knowledge.
  • Experience in building and modeling products across multiple platforms.
  • Full knowledge of production and technical process across multiple platforms.
  • Proven experience successfully delivering digital products and services for organizations.
  • Experience in developing and coding Internet/Intranet applications, interactive web application, design/development, database connectivity, and software development.
  • BS/MS degree preferred.
