Sailing & Skiing Spitsbergen by Video

A few weeks ago I shared a blog about an exploratory ski trip by sailboat in Svalbard, Norway this past late May 2011. The trip was organized by Doug Stoup and his team at IceAxe Expeditions and will be offered again in 2012. (see: ‘Of Ice and Men’)

One of our team members Noah Howell of Powderwhore Productions is currently at work on building out a segment on this journey for Powderwhore’s upcoming ski film “Breaking Trail” on tour this fall across the United States. The film’s trailer will air here on outsidetelevision.com at the end of August.

In the meantime, with a short video edit below (4:30), Noah offers a sneak peak and a quick glimpse into skiing in the Arctic Circle, with a creative look at some of its magnificent beauty and extraordinary scenery, while showing what adventure is all about—sharing it with friends.
