Out There? Make your Moves Count (at Movescount)

When it comes to technology, I do not always go boldly into the unknown. I tend to wait on a trend and slowly access the feedback. Recently, however, I got hooked up with a really good NEW thing.

SUUNTO, of watch-making fame, is one of the premier designers and manufacturers of precision sports instruments. As such, they have two categories of watches-- the M series and the T series-- that work in conjunction with heart-rate monitors that upload to an on-line tracking system called Movescount. To make the data transfer, you simply record the exercise on your watch, download the information via a USB Movestick, and then voilà-- the data appears on your personal page, edited by you for either a private or public setting.

I have never fully committed to using a heart-rate monitor, typically being a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type gal for work-outs and training; but, with SUUNTO’s new system, I was converted.

Movescount’s followers include great athletes like Daron Rahlves (skier/racer), Rebecca Rusch (endurance runner/biker), and Julian Carr (skier/cliff jumper), for whom athletic training, preparation and performance are of utmost importance for their professional careers. It is an honor for me to join their ranks and become a part of the on-line team.

There is an inclusive and important sports community aspect of Movescount.com. In this forum, people can create groups, join events and follow training programs. Movescount.com is also compatible with both Mac and PC.

The ultimate goal of this new site is to help athletes at all levels analyze and improve their performance through the statistics the watches calculate throughout activity. The numbers can be used to inspire people to push their limits as well as to get the most out of their sports time. With the help of a user friendly system and design, Movescount helps you track your training, events, and work-out classes with instant feedback and clear numbers.
If you are serious about your time, and committed to your health, or even excited about evaluating your training, this is a one-stop spot that will assist you in moving towards and accomplishing your goals. That’s the best kind of training pal there is.

To check out more information and to get a sense of this system, visit Movescount and observe the growing team of people, myself included, riding the technological wave to a better self.
